Kristen Modafferi
Kristen Modafferi was last seen on July 23rd, 1997. She was from North Carolina and was a college honor roll student spending her summer in San Francisco, California. She was working part time at a coffee shop with intentions of saving up money to take a course at U of C Berkley. She left her shift at the coffee shop on July 23rd, 1997 and was never seen again. Kristen also never clocked out from work the day that she vanished. Which is something she always did which makes people believe she was taken from work under unusual circumstances.

Suspects: A man named Jon Onuma called the police with a tip that Kristen was killed in part of a lesbian love triangle. The story was believed to be false information to throw of police. The police still think Jon Onuma is a person of interest. He at first denied making phone calls about the case

then apparently later boasted to his friends about doing so. He at first made the calls anonymous then Oakland PD tracked him down.
Some rumours have circulated that Onuma had ties to human sex trafficking rings. Which is not proven.
Onuma was also acquaintances with many of Kristen's co workers.
Onuma has also been accused of raping a few woman one who even claims that he burnt her with cigarettes.
Tidbits
- A man who worked with Kristen seen her talking to a blonde woman outside of the shop 45 minutes after her shift ended. Which was apparently out of character for Kristen as she never stuck around after work.
- On July 10th, 1997 a man phoned a news station and said she knew who killed Kristen. He said two women kidnapped Kristen killed her then dumped her under a bridge. They weren't sure if it was a hoax. The women who were accused said the man was mad because they were about to fire his girlfriend from work. But when they searched his home they found pages ripped out of his girlfriends diary from around the time Kristen went missing.
- A man named Randall Davis claims that he talked to Kristen in Nicaragua in 2000. It is uncertain if it was her but he claims he is 100% sure it was her. He said that she said she was from the Carolinas and hadn't spoke with her family in ages. She said that she needed to find herself.
